There will be a Game 7.

The Colorado Avalanche won a wildly-entertaining Game 6 against the Dallas Stars on Thursday, extending the series to a winner-take-all showdown on Saturday in Dallas.

Before we get to Saturday, here is the 20/20 from Game 6 after a 7-4 Colorado win.

1. It was a punch/counter-punch game.

Colorado was the better team in the first period, the Stars shifted and found their attack in the second period, but Colorado surged in the third period.

The game-winning goal, which we will show soon here, may have been flukey, but if we go simply off who controlled the play and possession, the Avalanche deserved this win.

2. Cale Makar had his best game of the series in my view.

While a lot has been made about the Stars not having Miro Heiskanen, rightfully so, Makar hasn’t been at his best and he set the tone in Game 6 with how he pushed the Avalanche’s transition game.

3. What a bizarre game-winning goal.

Sam Steel chipped a loose puck off his own linemate Colin Blackwell and it deflected into the Stars net and past Jake Oettinger.

It’s one of those weird ones where just rolling the tape makes more sense than trying to properly explain it.
