20/20: Golden Knights take 2-0 series lead
Dallas is in a similar spot to its last playoff series against Vegas.
My apologies for the delay on the 20/20 tonight.
Normally I like to have these up as close to the final buzzer as possible, but tonight I had a beer league game (we won 4-0, I had a shutout), so I caught up on the the Vegas Golden Knights 3-1 Game 2 win against the Dallas Stars afterward.
Vegas lead the series 2-0, Game 3 is Saturday night in Nevada.
1. This felt like a statement game for the Golden Knights.
See, after Game 1 I felt the Stars outplayed Vegas, I still felt good about my pick of Dallas to win the series. After Game 2, I’m less convinced the defending Stanley Cup Champions will get ousted.
The Golden Knights played bully and territorial hockey extremely well. The Stars struggled to get to the prime scoring areas, and after making a meal of a shot in Game 1, Logan Thompson easily sat in the halo around his net and better controlled his rebounds.
