It’s a 1-1 series headed back to Alberta.

The Dallas Stars won Game 2 3-1, picking up the split at home after they dropped Game 1 earlier in the week.

Let’s get into the 20/20.

1. Jake Oettinger played well enough to win Game 1, he looked even better in Game 2 and got his proper reward.

The Stars goalie stopped 28 of 29 shots.

Most importantly, Oettinger found a way to combine some of his strengths.

He was technically sound, but when chaos ensued and the Oilers crashed the net front, he battled well and, even when scrambling, kept eye contact with the puck — tracking, if you want to use a nerdy goalie term.

Oettinger’s most notable save came in the first period with the knob of his stick, a save that combines a bit of luck — all great saves require some degree of that — and composure not taking himself out of the play on the goal line.
