20/20: Stars beat Avs in first meeting since playoffs
On the Stars, Avalanche and a late November meeting.
The Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche met on Friday for the first time since the 2024 Playoffs, where Dallas eliminated Colorado in six games.
The Stars won this game 5-3, here is the 20/20.
1. I like how Avalanche coach Jared Bednar admitted that this game had a little bit more juice because of recent playoff history between the teams.
Yes, all the games count the same in the standings and coaches typically love to downplay narratives. But, c’mon, we’re all human and circled this game or watched it on national TV for a reason.
2. I’m not sure if Mikko Rantanen and Colorado will figure out a deal this season, that seems to be a hotly-contested rumor right now, but he’s by far one of the most underrated elite players in the NHL because he gets overshadowed by Cale Makar and Nathan MacKinnon.
