Greetings from Detroit.

Today we are combining the 20/20 from two games at the prospect tournament, where the Dallas Stars beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-1 and the Pittsburgh Penguins prospects beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3.

1. I’m going to open this 20/20 with some notes from a conversation with Stars general manager Jim Nill, who took time to chat with Robert Tiffin and I during the second intermission of the first game, since some of it seems news worthy.

For starters, on the future of this tournament, these four teams have agreed to a plan for the next three years according to Nill, with Pittsburgh hosting in 2027, Columbus hosting in 2028 and Dallas hosting in 2029.

Nill, who was part of the initial founding of the old Traverse City Tournament (RIP), also said he believes a four-team tournament, with three games per team has turned into an ideal fit.

2. The Stars have picked their full-time emergency back-up goalie that will travel with the team this year, former Notre Dame back-up goalie Jack Williams.
