The first true Stanley Cup contender has been eliminated.

While there were other good teams eliminated in Round 1, this was the only series that featured two teams with legitimate Stanley Cup aspirations.

The defending champions vs. the best regular season team in the Western Conference.

The series fittingly took seven games, and in the end, it was the defending champions that were dethroned as the Dallas Stars won Game 7 2-1 against the Vegas Golden Knights.

This is the 20/20.

1. This was the best series of the first round.

And not just because it went seven games and neither team ever won by more than two goals.

The hockey was simply played at a higher level across the board, both teams deserved to advance.
