20/20: Stars fall to Bruins in OT

Hey, sometimes you gotta bring back the classics.

I thought I had retired the 20/20.

Truthfully, I did.

For those of you who followed me during my Stars full-time beat writing days, you’ll remember the format. It’s essentially a collection of 20 thoughts and observations, often loosely connected. I was basically taking the idea from Elliotte Friedman’s 32 (or 31 or 30) thoughts and putting it into a game format.

But I got the itch on Tuesday night watching the first period between the Dallas Stars and the Boston Bruins. I foolishly floated the idea in the Stars discord channel, and now here we are.

So the Stars 20/20 is back for this game, maybe it’s a one-time thing, maybe it’s something that will surface more often.

The top teams in the Western Conference and Eastern Conference standings went head-to-head, OT was required. Maybe it’s a preview of the cup final….
