20/20: Stars take 3-1 lead with 3-1 win in Game 4
Miro Heiskanen returned to the lineup and now Dallas has a chance to close it out in Winnipeg.
The Dallas Stars took a 3-1 series lead, fittingly, with a 3-1 in Game 4 on Tuesday.
The game marked the return of Miro Heiskanen.
Here is the 20/20.
1. Long before the Stars traded for Mikko Rantanen, Stars general manager Jim Nill told me he was extremely happy with what Mikael Granlund and Cody Ceci bought to the Stars.
In fact, Nill went as far to say that if the Stars didn’t make another move he’d be comfortable with how the Stars looked going into the postseason.
The Stars, obviously, made the eventual big move for Rantanen, but Granlund has been one of the Stars better forwards, consistently, since he arrived from the San Jose Sharks.
A hat trick in Game 4 is a pretty good exclamation point.
2. I think it’s easy to forget, especially after a win, how important this game was coming in.
Yes, the Stars led 2-1 in the series, but a potential loss here returned home-ice advantage to the Jets, who have been a completely different team in Manitoba compared to playing on the road.
