If you wanted to deal in clichés you could say it’s officially a series now.

The Edmonton Oilers won Game 2 on the road, evening the Western Conference Final series up at 1-1, with a 3-0 victory against the Dallas Stars.

The series now shifts to Edmonton on Sunday, a matinee with a 1 pm local time puck drop in Alberta.

But before we get there, here is the 20/20 from Friday.

1. Stuart Skinner continued one of the most confounding postseasons we’ve ever seen for a goalie.

The Oilers goalie has made seven starts, in four of them he’s been awful and it cost him his starting job in the first round, which he only regained when Calvin Picard got hurt.

But in his other three starts, like Game 2, he was perfect.

Three shutouts, four fireable offenses.

It’s a wild boom-or-bust roller coaster with Skinner in net, and in Game 2 Edmonton was able to get the boom.

2. Now, to be clear, the Stars made Skinner’s life much easier than it needed to be.

The Stars struggled to create much of anything at even strength and didn’t get to the front of the net. Dallas ended with just nine high-danger chances according to Natural Stat Trick and on a power play in the third period, which felt like the last chance to swing momentum, had zero shots.

Skinner was perfect, sure, but he also had low bar to clear.
