The Jets couldn't win the series tonight, but they also could have certainly lost it.

There will be a Game 6.

The Winnipeg Jets defeated the Dallas Stars 4-0 on Thursday, extending their season and forcing a game back in Dallas on Saturday.

That game will be at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT on ABC.

1. Going into this game there was a simple, but needed mantra from the Winnipeg Jets — take it one game at the time.

Everyone knows the Jets will have to win a road game to save their season in Game 6, but in order to even have that opportunity the Jets had to get the job done at home, a place where they’ve been one of the NHL’s best teams.

And in front of a home crowd, the Jets delivered, playing a smart, but simple game and outshooting the Stars 35-22.

2. It was an important performance for Connor Hellebuyck, who delivered his second shutout of the series with 22 stops.

He may be horrific on the road recently, but Hellebuyck’s has posted six-straight perfect periods at home, which adds a bit more pressure on Dallas to get to him in Game 6.
