The Dallas Stars evened up the second round series with the Seattle Kraken at 1-1, winning Game 2 4-2 on Thursday night.

It was a pretty dominant performance by the Stars, who had a 37-27 edge in shots, and after the first period the game was heavily tilted in Dallas’ favor.

These are my thoughts and things I found interesting from the game.

The Pavelski house rules

Around this time last year I took a couple trips to Windsor to watch Wyatt Johnston play in the OHL playoffs with the Windsor Spitfires.

At the OHL level, and before that in his life, Johnston was was typically in a puck-controlling area. On the power play he was working from the wings and the half wall, in offensive zone plays often ran through him.

One thing he didn’t do frequently was work in the bumper position on the power play.
