Checking in on Red Wings prospect Amadeus Lombardi
Catching up with the Red Wings prospect about his AHL rookie season.
Amadeus Lombardi was the least-used forward in the Grand Rapids Griffins 4-2 Game 1 victory against the Milwaukee Admirals on Wednesday.
With Grand Rapids using an 11-7 lineup, Lombardi and Elmer Soderblom were a seldom-used fourth line, with a top-six player typically cycling in to play with them.
Lombardi only had 11 shifts for 11 minutes, 10 seconds of ice time.
But Lombardi made the most of those minutes, creating two scoring chances, winning both of his face-offs, and blocking a couple shots.
It was a classic game where the time on ice vs. impact felt deceiving. While Lombardi didn’t play frequently, he created a buzz in the positive direction for Grand Rapids.
