Expected by Whom? returns talking CHL-NCAA, player development and more with Willie Desjardins
One of my favorite projects is back.
Exciting news, everyone.
Expected by Whom? the interview-style podcast that I host with Prashanth Iyer has returned from hiatus and we were happily joined this week by head coach and general manager of the Medicine Hat Tigers Willie Desjardins.
Desjardin’s coaching résumé is both impressive and unique, he’s coached and won championships in Japan, the AHL, WHL, coached Hockey Canada at both World Juniors and the Olympics and won a Spengler Cup.
In addition he’s been an NHL head coach for both the Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings sandwiched in between his time building one of the WHL’s best programs in Medicine Hat.
We had him on for a couple reasons, but I particularly wanted to talk to speak with him about his coaching approach with younger players, helping with their development, and how the world is changing with college hockey and the CHL.
You can see the video interview below, or you can search and subscribe for Expected by Whom? wherever you find listen to podcasts.
Expected by Whom? will return soon, we are working on other guests and that will join us soon. As always, if you have ideas/suggestions or things you’d like to see, let Prashanth or I know.
