I guess when you don’t play in a traditional market you’re going to have the surfeit of coverage that places like Toronto, Montreal and Detroit will get. Good thing we still have you writing about the Stars.

Anyways, it’s good to see Dallas start bagging those one-goal wins that eluded them for so long. My question is how important is it that the Stars are getting so many regulation wins?

That’s a really good point on regulation wins, could be tiebreaker if needed if points are tied

Olofsson's got a 1-way contract? That's a little unusual, isn't it? I thought he played well! (in very limited opportunities.)

Also, Guri's absence created the opportunity, but anyone else get the feeling Nill might be showcasing some of the young depth talent a little bit?

We have a trove of quality, potential "middle six" forwards in the system (Mavrik and Stanky are off limits!), but if one was the sweetener on a deal to bring in a solid 2nd pair defensemen - somebody that could bump Suter and/or Jakanpaa down the peaking order - you gotta make that move, right?

I just get the sense that JN might think this is the year to push some of his chips in. The Stars are good, we've all seen that. A little tweaking here and there, and they have a chance to be *real* good. I could part with an Olofsson or Tufte (or Blumel or Stanges or Damiani) to make that happen.

the Olofsson 1-way was a bit reflective of the market, other NHL teams were also interested

Every time a Jamie Benn milestone goal gets reached I’m reminded of the “did he or did he not deflect a Klingberg shot to score goal number 300”. I’m sure there are plenty of other players/goals that have had instances like this too and that it probably all evens out really but for whatever reason this one sticks in my mind.

Interesting point about the skates. I guess the question is if the occasional malfunction is worth the lighter weight? Idk. It's fine tonight but I wouldn't say the same in May.

The NHL goalies will keep messing with them end working on them too. It’ll be interesting to see how many goalies are sticking with them after a season/how does Bauer take the feedback

Trenin reminds of the fingerless glove, under the bridge version of Tage Thompson. Sometimes he just comes out of nowhere to marry brute force and finesse.
