Your comment about Australian cult following of the NHL is real and personal to me... on a trip to Boston (love that town) about 6 years ago I met a couple at a dive bar who love the bruins and Starsso they came for a game and we’re coming to Dallas the following week, we drank and chirped and generally had a blast. He played Aussie rules and hockey and talked at length about the diehard cult following they have, we enjoyed that night and the game there. They came to Dallas, we took them out and had a killer time then also enjoyed a Stars game together. We attended their wedding a few years ago and saw how feverent the fan base is there while sitting in a beach bar watching NHL games at hours that shouldn’t serve booze! Great times. Then that season my seat neighbors sold their tix to a couple from Australia, we watched, then partied, then did it again the next day from a bar, those people need hockey live, they crave it.
