A private space for us Shap Shop readers to converse and connect

First some site news.

Thanks to the supremely talented artist @sportstoons, I know have a site logo.

I guess that’s one of the signs this things is going to be sticking around longer than expected, and that’s a good thing! It’s been fun building this space and writing about whatever I want.

Secondly, I’m working to build up the Substack chat portion. Substack even gave me a full template for how introduce it, which I’ve conveniently copied and pasted below….

The chat will be a space we can have some Twitter-like conversations during games I’m watching/covering, or answer reader questions in a direct manner. It doesn’t replace the mailbag (which comes out tomorrow) but it does add another place for reader interaction.

Today I’m announcing a brand new addition to my Substack publication: the Shap Shots subscriber chat.

This is a conversation space in the Substack app that I set up exclusively for my subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.

To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a chance to join conversation as it happens.

How to get started

1. Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is only on iOS for now, but chat is coming to the Android app soon.

2. Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.

3. That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
