Based on the lineups today, Trey Augustine’s time in net at the IIHF World Championships has come to an end.
The Detroit Red Wings goalie prospect, and Michigan State starter, had dressed for the Americans first six games. He entered the tournament as a backup to Alex Lyon, who left with injury after two games, before sitting behind Pittsburgh Penguins Alex Nedeljkovic arrived.
Washington Capitals goalie Charlie Lindgren has joined Team USA, and is now part of the dressing tandem with Nedeljkovic for the game against Latvia.
Augustine appeared in three games, entering twice in relief and getting a full start and winning against Poland. He faced 42 shots, made 39 saves in 131:42 of ice time.
