My thoughts on a night they also played hockey
Despite a busy sports night, there happened to be some pretty good hockey games.
It was a good night of hockey on Monday, and in the two largest markets for Shap Shots, it was understandably overshadowed.
The Detroit Red Wings went head-to-head on the calendar with the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football. And, believe it or not, the Lions are actually quite good this season.
The Dallas Stars played at the same time as the Texas Rangers, who happen to be playing in the World Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
So if you were a regional fan for either of those teams, and many of us are, it was quite understandable that Monday night regular season hockey wasn’t the top of your to-do list.
Like most night when the Red Wings and Stars play, I did my best to watch both games using the pause and play functions now available to us. For example, the Detroit game started 30 minutes before the Dallas game, so it worked out well where I could watch the Red Wings live from the start, pause the Stars game and catch up pretty well.
Because of the nature of the sports calendar, I’m just combing my thoughts from both games — and some other games as well — in one post from a rather exciting night of hockey across the league.
