On what the Stars saw with Joel Blomqvist's glove hand
Some notes and thoughts on what happened in the first period on Monday.
The Dallas Stars smashed the Pittsburgh Penguins 7-1 on Monday.
It was kind of a weird night where Dallas struck six times in the first period on 12 shots, and effectively ended the game before the first intermission.
No 20/20 from this one because I let the kids stay up late to watch, meaning the typical note taking time was spent discussing hockey with the 6-year-old — who was both very excited a team scored the same amount as her age in one period and felt the team she plays on could do the same thing on Saturday.
(She’s probably right, at this point “goaltending” in her games consist of one kid awkwardly holding a goalie stick that’s way too heavy for them.)
But, I still wanted to get something here the Stars first period, particularly after the Dallas broadcast captured this bench shot of Mason Marchment and Matt Duchene discussing things in the first period, assuringly about Joel Blomqvist’s glove.
