Some College Hockey observations from Denver-Niagara and Michigan-NTDP
Emptying the notebook from back-to-back college hockey games this past weekend.
My schedule worked out well this past weekend that I was able to watch the two winningest programs in college hockey history on back-to-back nights.
On Friday, I was in Denver for another project but was able to attend the game between Denver and Niagara at Magness Arena before my redeye flight back to Detroit.
Denver won 5-2.
On Saturday, I brought the kid with me and we watched Michigan vs. the United States Under-18 National Team in an exhibition in Plymouth.
Michigan won 5-1 in an exhibition game, which also featured a trio of Wolverine commits on the U-18 team.
In both of these games Denver and Michigan were missing key players because of participation in the 2024 World Junior Championship, which Team USA won on Friday afternoon in Sweden.
Since we had some good response here to my last piece on college hockey, and one subscriber asked specifically for occasional updates, I figured I’d empty the notebook from those games.
