I had a good chat yesterday afternoon with Dallas Stars director of player personnel Rich Peverley.

Most of that conversation was centered on the Hryckowian brothers — current Stars forward Justin Hryckowian and his younger brother Dylan Hryckowian, who just signed with the organization as a college free agent.

You can, and should, read that full story here.

As most interviews tend to go, I ended up with way more than I needed for that story and Peverley and I ended up having a longer chat about the state of college hockey and where it tends to be going in a brave new world where CHL players are eligible to play college hockey.

It’s particularly notable with the NCAA tournament starting this week — you still have time to join my bracket competition by the way — and there’s a pretty good likelihood that a former CHLer could have a lasting impact in the NCAA title game in Las Vegas next month.
