Been a stars fan since they came to Dallas and yours is the best coverage I’ve ever read. Felt like I learned a ton about the Wings last year. I’m in as long as you are!
I'm happy that this is shaping up to be a good alternative career path for you. Even though it sucked losing you on the Stars beat at first and then from the formerly great subscription service that has become garbage and whose name will not be uttered by me again, I'm still thankful because honestly without you in this space I don't know where we would get close to this quality of writing.
Like most fans I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve and I've always been impressed by how you deal with folks like me.
I went to my first hockey game in LA in the mid-70s and have been hooked since. In those nearly 50 years of hockey fandom you are no-lie my favorite hockey writer and I'm so thankful that you are still covering the Stars even though you're in some God-forsaken Northern state.
Joking aside, thank you for what you do. I'm here for you as long as you do it. I pray that this is enough (along with your other projects) to keep you doing this far into the future.
Thanks for keeping up with the Stars coverage Sean. I just don't get it here in Dallas, the Stars seem set to be on a uphill swing and great season, yet it doesn't seem that they are too important to ANY local media here. Although, I'm not sure why I am surprised. I've followed them since day one, and nothing is new about this...
Glad to see Shap Shots staying around (and with a plan too!).
Feels crazy to think that the Stars coverage I’ll be relying on the most this upcoming season wont be local to the team, but there’s no person I’d trust with it more! Thank you for acknowledging the void and being willing to continue to fill it in some way!
Seriously can. not. wait. for your coverage this season. you ask and answer interesting questions no one else is and I appreciate the perspective you bring to the Wings. Thank you for sticking around in this space.
I originally subscribed for the wide-ranging coverage and depth that is hard to find in typical beat pieces. However now I'm incredibly thankful since this will be the only dedicated reporting for the Stars. Thanks for being here!
Excited for this medium to not only keep going, but to expand. It's been a joy the last year to wake up and find something interesting to read to start my day. Looking forward to year 2 -- thanks for the excellent content!
they are not going to employ a full-time Stars beat writer anymore. Saad will do some Stars when he's not on Cowboys duty. The DMN has interviewed people and told them the job is a Rangers-Stars combo, and is not committed to traveling anymore.

thanks Laura, hopefully this space can at least be a sliver of deserved coverage.

thanks Chepey!
It's gonna be a great year! Thanks for providing the best Stars coverage in the world!
thanks Chase!
What Tiffany said.....👍👍
Disappointing
So, you probably know a lot more than I do. Is the Athletic not planning on replacing Saad? What about the DMN?
