🥹 thank you love you’re too sweet - and completely correct those are NOT the photos to associate with my photography! I would also like the mention that I do also have a bachelors degree in photojournalism.
Photographs of live action are so fascinating in that they capture a very fleeting moment in time but turn that brief moment into an eternity. The moment can be broken down and analyzed for days, weeks, years, with all manner of conclusions drawn about what was happening and what was going through the minds of the human subjects. What were they thinking? What were they feeling? What was the motivation behind the look on their faces?
In all likelihood, in that split second in time, perhaps nothing in particular was really causing that look; rather, it just happened organically and spontaneously with nary a thought to be had. But we still are drawn to suppose what was going on in their minds as that fleeting moment becomes an eternal representation of an event. Fascinating.

I still try to find any reason to use a Christina Shapiro shot on 100 Degree Hockey. The Hedden photo is one of my favorites in franchise history.

I love that this turned into a little love letter to your wife.
Great column, Sean. And you're lucky to have Christina in your life. I wish the best to both of you!
