One more point… if I’m not mistaken, the CHL teams get a “development fee” when one of their players is drafted… is the NCAA going to pay also a fee for getting (steeling) a “developed” player?
Ok, so I’ve been thinking about why this “purchase” bothers me. I’m not against “amateur” athletes getting paid when playing for profit oriented organizations. Especially if they are making physical sacrifices that could affect them forever… under the guise of “you can be one of a thousand and go pro”… bs. (Every college football player will experience pain some worse than others later in life!).
So my issue is, only this guy gets paid? Not all of his teammates? This isn’t tennis or golf? Without his teammates he’s just a guy with a puck skating around.
LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
McKenna also avoids the Hagens trap of walking onto a line with established stars, replacing another star, on a NCAA title favorite team.
