Introducing a new paid subscriber feature here at Shap Shots

Last night I didn’t watch hockey. After a rather hectic day, I met a good friend at the bar for a drink, ate sweet potato fries, and decompressed and talked about human, non-hockey, things.

A bar conversation also helped spark an idea for a feature here at Shap Shots, one that could be replicated Monday Morning Quarterback-style the day after a game. Take the goals from the night before, and with fresh eyes, answer the question, “Why did that go in?”

So I did that on Wednesday morning. I went back to the 14 combined goals from the Tampa Bay Lightning’s 5-4 win against the Dallas Star and the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 win against the Detroit Red Wings.
