I’d be curious to hear which goalies have broken free from the shackles of technique and which are still trying to get there…or are unwilling to go there. Also, what are some examples besides Quick’s RVH of goalies doing things differently and doing them well?
I can get into more when I'm not finishing up coverage of finals, but Hellebuyck's positioning is one where he basically broke the mold and some others have tried to copy him and failed because they approached it wrong way.
